Kyle MacLachlan Addresses Potential Return as Trey MacDougal in Sex and the City Franchise.
Kyle MacLachlan found himself wondering what Trey MacDougal was up to these days. Following the Sex and the City alum's decision not to return to his role as Charlotte York's ex-husband in the follow-up series And Just Like That, he discussed whether or not he would be okay with taking Trey's place in a prospective follow-up.
“Oh, would I ever! Absolutely,” at Heidi Klum's 25th Annual Halloween Party at Cathédrale in New York City on October 31, MacLachlan exclusively spoke to media outlets. “Come on, Trey has to come back.”

"He's got unfinished business,” he added. “Of course, that would be fun.”
At the star-studded, eerie event, MacLachlan, accompanied by his 18-year-old son Callum, jokingly remarked that he was prepared to "start some vicious rumors" about Trey's comeback in a new spinoff series.
“It’s going to happen, very, very soon,” at the event, which was sponsored by Butterfinger and Apothic, he made jokes. “I know this is going to get picked up and going to be the logline and that’s how it’s going to work.”
The 67-year-old still has pleasant memories of his time as Trey, the first husband of Kristin Davis' Charlotte, even though it has been almost 25 years since his last appearance in season four in 2002.
“There are very many memories,” at Klum's Halloween celebration, MacLachlan dressed as the "evil" Cliff Vandercave from The Flintstones. “I think working with Kristin Davis is one of my most favorite. We had a really wonderful run. I love her dearly, and she's so wonderful. And so anytime working with her was special.”
In actuality, Davis and other former SATC cast mates continue to stay in touch with the Twin Peaks alum.
“I still see her occasionally,” MacLachlan mentioned Davis. “Occasionally I see Chris [Noth] out and about. [Showrunner] Michael Patrick King and then we're good friends with Darren Starr, who was the original creator of it. So, we stay in touch with a few of them.”
