Miley Cyrus Perspective on Being Labeled as a "Cougar" in Her Relationship with Maxx Morando.
Miley Cyrus is totally unbothered by the “cougar” label in her relationship with Maxx Morando—and even finds joy in their age gap. In a recent episode of the Sorry We're Cyrus podcast with her sister Brandi, Miley joked about their shared “cougar” status and revealed that she's actually excited for Maxx to turn 27—the same age she was when she made big changes in her life.
"He will be 27 when I turn 33," when Miley appeared on the Sorry We are Cyrus podcast on June 19, she informed Brandi, whose boyfriend Matt Southcombe is a year her junior, "which I’m so excited for him to turn 27 cause that was such a great year for me."
The Grammy winner also jokingly said that Maxx, with whom she was initially associated in 2021, was lucky to have a wonderful role model as he embarks on a new chapter in his life.

She said, “I’m just hoping that, as long as he follows in my footsteps, everything is going to be great.” Maxx, a Scorpio, also gets some of Miley’s admiration for his “sting,” which she finds essential in a partner. Miley quipped. "That’s right when I started turning my life around."
The "We Can't Stop" singer also does not attribute their relationship's success to their age gap, even if she does not mind being older than her lover. She does think that Maxx's astrological sign is beneficial.
"He’s a Scorpio and so is his grandfather, that’s what makes Maxx just so cool because he can sting," Miley explained. "Like, [Scorpios are] very cool, think that they’re little angels, until it turns around and they got a sting."
She went on to say, "I could not be with someone [who] does not sting," "They already would have been toast."
Miley has previously discussed how the age difference between her and Maxx shows up in their relationship. She talked about how she can tell they were born into different generations back in November.
"He looks at life really differently than I do," at the time, Miley told Harper's Bazaar. "He grew up with a laptop. I had a desktop computer that I shared with my brothers and sisters."
And although their age difference gets attention, Miley doesn't chalk up their connection to the numbers. Instead, she credits their playful dynamic and shared attitude about life “We just don’t take life too seriously.”
For Miley, it's all about connection, growth, and a little astrological flair.
