Miley Cyrus shares an encouraging update on her godmother Dolly Parton as she faces health challenges.

Dolly Parton is preparing to make a spectacular return. Miley Cyrus, the country music icon's goddaughter, reassured fans that she is eager to return to her usual activities despite the singer's current health issues.

“She’s always gonna keep the show going,” Miley disclosed in a December 1st interview. “The show must go on, so she’s excited to get back to work.”

Dolly, 79, has spent the last few months concentrating on her health. Due to kidney stone issues, she was unable to attend an event at her Dollywood amusement park in September; instead, she appeared in a pre-recorded video.

“Turned out it’d given me an infection,” in a video that was played during the event, she stated, “and the doctor said, ‘You don’t need to be traveling right this minute, so you need a few days to get better.’”

In the weeks that followed, the singer of "9 to 5" skipped several engagements and rescheduled a number of shows in Las Vegas that were originally scheduled for December 2025 to September 2026.

“I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see,” in a September Instagram post, she added. “You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you.”

However, Dolly has maintained her optimism in spite of her health issues. In fact, she sent her fans a joyous video message to commemorate Thanksgiving last month.

“I am so thankful for all of you and for the memories that we've shared through the years,” in the Instagram video on November 27, she noted. “So happy Thanksgiving to everyone and just know that I will always love you.”

Many celebrities have been open about their health struggles, much like Dolly.
