Katy Perry has already put the past behind her. The singer of "Firework" was involved in a terrifying incident during her Lifetimes tour performance at San Francisco's Chase Center on July 18 when she almost fell off a gigantic flying butterfly in midair.
Katy who broke up with Orlando Bloom this month after a nine-year romance—stopped performing her smash song "Roar" in a video posted to X on July 19 when the prop, which was hanging over the audience, appeared to unexpectedly fall a few feet because of a change in the wiring.
The prop kept swinging back and forth from the unexpected movement, and the vocalist, wearing a horrified expression, clung to the butterfly's body for support. She gestured with her hand that she was alright and proceeded to perform the remainder of the song with grace after the prop appeared to stabilize.
Couple of hours later, the 40-year-old amusingly posted a close-up of her appalled response on her Instagram Stories with the words, "Goodnight, San Fran." After all, Katy is accustomed to taking a beating during a performance. She and her estranged spouse have a 4-year-old daughter named Daisy Dove.
According to a video posted on X, the "California Gurls" singer was being hoisted over the crowd in a huge metallic sphere at one of her performances in Australia last month when the prop appeared to wobble to one side, causing her to cling to the cables to prevent falling.
And even when she was a judge on American Idol, she had to manage some of the unforeseen glitches on live air.
After Katy's top broke during an episode last April, she explained, "It seems like every season something falls off, breaks, tears and the people love it," "So give the people what they want."
She continued, "beside my top, I have nothing to lose." Furthermore, Katy is hardly the only performer to experience terrifying live accidents. In fact, Beyoncé encountered a similar circumstance at Houston's NRG Stadium last month during the first of two Cowboy Carter performances.
The Grammy winner seemed trapped in a car that was suspended above the audience when she was singing "16 Carriages," as the automobile started to tilt in midair.
According to a video posted to TikTok on June 28, she then abruptly stopped singing and began saying, "Stop, stop, stop," into the microphone until she was safely lowered to the stadium's center.
When she came back to the platform, she said, “I know y’all would catch me.” “If ever I fall,”
