Roseanne Barr and Ambien Side Effects
Quote from Ndubuisi Ekekwe on May 30, 2018, 11:53 AM
An American sitcom actress, Roseanne Barr, unleashed her signature lines – racism – on a former Obama White House staff member, Valerie Jarrett [she was born in Iran, and is an African-American], lumping her as a product of “Muslim Brotherhood” and “Planet of the Apes”.
ABC, a TV network in America, cut-off her source of benjamins (US dollars). That is the only universal thing that works.
Then, the woman pivoted, and claimed that she was on Ambien, a sleep-aid medication, when she spread her venom [possibly, it was the Ambien that triggered the racism!].
Fascinatingly, Sanofi, the company that makes Ambien, rebutted the assertion Wednesday on Twitter noting that racism is not a side effect of Ambien.
“People of all races, religions and nationalities work at Sanofi every day to improve the lives of people around the world,” the drugmaker’s social media account tweeted. “While all pharmaceutical treatments have side effects, racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi medication.”
People, racism is not yet a confirmed side effect of Ambien.
Yes, social media networks have their problems. But on occasions like this one, we celebrate them. If not, this woman would still be beamed into people's homes, through TVs, despite the impurity of her mind.
