Russell Brand is facing two more charges of rape and sexual assault, after a not guilty plea to similar charges earlier this year.

Russell Brand is still having legal issues. The 50-year-old comic was slammed with more accusations after two new female accusers came forward. Earlier this year, the comedian was accused with multiple counts of rape and sexual assault, to which he has entered a not guilty plea.
London's Metropolitan Police department announced in a news release on December 23 that Brand was charged with one more count of rape and one additional count of sexual assault pertaining to the two victims. On January 20, 2026, a London court is scheduled to hear the charges against him.
The Get Him to the Greek actor, who has three children with wife Laura Brand, did not explicitly address the issue in a video that was uploaded on X (previously Twitter) on December 23. Instead, he asked viewers "to understand the truth of my situation and scenario."
“I pray Lord, anyone that I’ve harmed or hurt in my years of mindlessness and sin would be healed, Lord,” in the video, he added. “And I pray, Lord, for the absolute truth of who I am to be abundantly revealed.”
Reporters have contacted Brand's representative for comment, but they have not received a response.
The Forgetting Sarah Marshall actress was charged in April with one crime of rape, one count of oral rape, two counts of sexual assault, and one count of indecent assault for incidents that occurred between 1999 and 2005. Following investigations by Channel 4 and The Sunday Times, detectives first started investigating the alleged crimes in September 2023. As a result, they received "a number of allegations," according to a news release from the police in April.
Brand quickly refuted the allegations on social media, stating in an X video at the time, “I was a drug addict, a sex addict and an imbecile, but what I never was, was a rapist.”
A judge extended Brand's conditional bail after he formally entered a not guilty plea to the initial five accusations one month later. The trial in that case is scheduled for June.
