Sadie Robertson recounted the scary moment when her 8-month-old baby started choking and briefly ceased breathing.

After a harrowing experience, Sadie Robertson is feeling thankful. The Duck Dynasty actress described how she went into full combat mode when her husband Christian Huff's 8-month-old daughter Kit started choking while eating a snack in her highchair.

“Within seconds, you could tell the severity of the situation,” on April 11, Sadie posted a video of her daughter dozing off to Instagram. “My mom pulled her from the highchair and placed my girl into my arms just as she stopped breathing.”

“Everyone went into action and into prayer,” the 28-year-old added. “Mom called 911, I started CPR, and everyone began to pray out loud and move the other kids downstairs.”

Sadie, who also has two daughters, Haven, 2, and Honey, 4, said she had previously seen a number of videos about what to do if a baby chokes and stops breathing because she "likes to be prepared for all situations."

“I can only explain it now like my body just knew what to do,” Sadie clarified. “I felt God’s Spirit guiding me, partnering with me in what I had learned and seen. I remember saying out loud, ‘what do I do?’ and then immediately started doing it and declaring life.”

As the paramedics arrived, Kit fortunately "miraculously coughed and began to breathe." Nevertheless, she was transferred to the hospital, where she spent the night under supervision.

Sadie, the daughter of Willie and Korie Robertson, felt that sharing the terrifying incident with her fans was crucial "as an encouragement for everyone to learn what to do in the case of an emergency."

“It happened SO fast,” she went on to say, “and I’m so thankful I was able to go straight into action!”

Sadie noted that the event occurred "within the first hour" of their family vacation and expressed her gratitude to her followers for their love and support after sharing her story.

“The rest of the week we got to be together and just soak in gratitude and rest in the miracle!” she posted on Instagram on April 13. “And also, of course, work through a lot of anxiety and tears. Just gotta keep it real, because of course that’s unseen in pictures.”

The reality star is ready to assist anyone; therefore, she wanted to give additional details about the experience. “Taking care of babies.”

“Again, just so grateful,” she added, “and I always want to use my platform to be authentic and helpful to others! So much love for everyone.”
