Sharon and Kelly Osbourne React to Hollywood Ozempic Craze

Ozempic, a drug that was originally developed to treat type 2 diabetes, has become the latest weight loss sensation in Hollywood. Celebrities like Rebel Wilson, Adele, and Jonah Hill have reportedly used Ozempic to shed pounds and transform their bodies. But not everyone is impressed by the Ozempic craze. Sharon and Kelly Osbourne, who have both struggled with their weight in the past, have spoken out against the use of Ozempic for cosmetic purposes.

Sharon Osbourne, who underwent gastric bypass surgery in {1999} and later had it reversed, said that she was concerned about the long-term effects of Ozempic on people's health. "I think it's very dangerous to mess with your hormones and your metabolism like that," she told Entertainment Tonight. "You don't know what it's doing to your organs, your brain, your heart. It's not a natural way to lose weight. It's a quick fix, but it's not a permanent solution."

Kelly Osbourne, who lost 85 pounds after having gastric sleeve surgery in {2018}, echoed her mother's sentiments. She said that she was happy for anyone who felt more confident in their body, but she warned that Ozempic was not a magic pill. "It's not like you take Ozempic and you're suddenly skinny and happy," she said on The Talk. "You still have to work on your mental health, your emotional health, your relationship with food, your exercise habits. Ozempic is not going to solve all your problems. It might even create new ones."

Both Sharon and Kelly Osbourne said that they were proud of their weight loss journeys and that they did not regret having surgery. They said that they understood the pressure that celebrities faced to look a certain way, but they urged people to be careful and consult their doctors before trying any new drugs or treatments. "There's no shame in wanting to lose weight or change your appearance," Kelly Osbourne said. "But you have to do it for yourself, not for anyone else. And you have to do it in a healthy and safe way."
