🎶 Justin Bieber is back—and he brought the "Swag". His seventh studio album, Swag, dropped on July 11, just hours after he teased it with cryptic billboards in cities like Reykjavík and Los Angeles. The 21-track project marks his first full-length release since 2021’s Justice, and it’s already being hailed as his most personal work yet.
💥 What’s inside the album?
Collaborations with Gunna, Sexyy Red, Cash Cobain, Lil B, and Eddie Benjamin.
Tracks like “Walking Away,” “Dadz Love,” and “Forgiveness” explore themes on his marriage, fatherhood, love, and vulnerability.
A spoken-word skit called “Therapy Session” featuring comedian Druski, addressing mental health rumors.
👨👩👦 Family front and center: The album art features Bieber with his wife Hailey and their son Jack Blues Bieber, born in August 2024. Fans are calling the album “raw,” “beautiful,” and “a masterclass in vocals”.
It goes without saying that family was going to be a big feature on Swag. After all, Justin released the album's cover art, a black-and-white picture of him standing in front of Hailey as she carried baby Jack, prior to the album's release.
The Grammy winner also shared a number of additional photos from the same session, all of which included him posing with his wife and son. In one picture, Jack, who was only wearing a diaper, was standing in the lap of Justin, 31, who was sitting on a floral couch in an otherwise deserted warehouse.
How does 28-year-old Hailey feel about Swag's release? The founder of Rhode Skin is undoubtedly happy that the album clarifies the current state of her relationship with Justin.
She actually reposted the family image to her account along with a scathing note that said, "Is it finally clocking to you f--king losers?" after the project's cover art was made public.
Justin's album Swag is his first since Justice from 2021, which featured singles like "Peaches" and "Holy."
Music has not always felt like a safe avenue for the "Baby" singer to express himself. He had to stop his Purpose tour midway through in 2017 due to a number of health problems.
When he returned to the studio to make Justice in 2020, he told Zane Lowe, "I was dealing with a lot of fear."
"Afraid of, at that point, just even the process," he went on to say that he frequently wondered, "'What am I going to talk about again? Is it going to be received?' I’m starting to compare with other artists."
However, Justin was able to regain his confidence after performing with Ariana Grande at Coachella in 2019. "It just kind of reminded me, 'Oh, this is what I do,'" he remembered. "This is what I’m good at. And I don’t need to run away from it."
