Zenvus Honours Rewardn with Agro-Innovation Product of the Year Award

0

At Zenvus, we are building a new operating system for African agriculture, using our technologies to power new agro-innovations. In the midst of our mission, we come in contact with partners who are amazing. In 2018, Rewardn which makes technologies that enable farmers to farm in places with limited rainfall and moisture inspired us the most. Because of the amazing capabilities in Rewardn, Zenvus team has chosen it as our Agro-Innovation Product of the Year.

So today, I personally went to the Founder of Rewardn, Chief Uche Silva, to deliver our award to him.

With Rewardn and Zenvus coming together, we are telling farmers, “no matter where you farm, do not worry about moisture because your crops will have just enough they need”.

We are helping states on the herdsmen issues, providing technologies to reverse deforestation by making it possible for farmers to farm where they had given up. Zenvus provides top-grade engineering that brings 360-degree visibility in farms, turning farmers into businesspeople over ancestral custodians of culture.

We are honored to be working with Rewardn.

Continue To Service Your Generators in Nigeria, Tesla Powerwall Is Not Coming To Nigeria

2

I know many Nigerians are already planning on how to save that petrol money budgeted for generators. In my office in Owerri (Imo State), we have fully disconnected from the national grid, running 100% on two generators which are rotated. So, when I read the Tesla news, I had planned to call my team to stop the new generator they plan to buy in Q2, hoping that Tesla Powerpacks of Powerwalls would arrive Nigeria. It seems that is (partly) fake news! Tesla is indeed open for Nigeria but NOT coming with the people’s product. We want Powerwall, but Tesla has Powerpacks available for Nigeria.

I was among those that quoted Ventures Africa (Guardian, Vanguard, etc picked the same source) that Tesla would be setting up shop in Nigeria, selling Powerwall. In short, the report was believable as they quoted a big man in the piece. They quoted Alex Okoh, the boss of Bureau of Public Enterprise (BPE), who made it clear that Nigerians would have more options besides generators and DISCOs (distributing companies): “They (DisCos) lacked the capacity to improve infrastructures…TESLA’s introduction could take advantage of palpable outrage in a country where over 190 million people share barely 4,000MW of power”, the report states.

But Tesla is saying NOT FAST (on Powerwall) via a statement attributed to Anouska Ruane, Tesla’s spokesperson for EMEA, in an interview on Monday, January 21, 2019: ““We have no current plans to offer our home battery system Powerwall in Nigeria. Tesla does work with project developers and utilities internationally, including across Africa, where our commercial battery system Powerpack can help support renewable energy and improve the reliability of electricity supply, both on- and off-grid.”

Yes, Tesla is possibly coming to Nigeria but with the Powerpack and not the one we had hoped. Powerpack is for big utilities while the Powerwall is designed for homes and small offices. We want Powerwall, but Tesla has Powerpack available for Nigeria.

Largely, the original reporting was not wrong –  Tesla statement and the one from Alex Okoh, the boss of Bureau of Public Enterprise (BPE) are both technically correct. Yet, I expect Tesla to sell Powerwall soon in Nigeria – it is evident right now that it has a market in Nigeria for Powerwall.

VideoProc is Best iPhone Video Converter – Converts, Edits iPhone 4K Video with Full GPU [Giveaway, Win iPhone]

When I received my current iPhone as a Christmas gift last December, I was excited, even though it was an old iPhone. With video libraries in formats like MKV, AAC, FLV, etc, I had imagined a moment to enjoy the full immersive experience of the best smartphone yet. Unfortunately, that did not happen: the iPhone could not play some of the videos as the formats were not compatible. Call it frustration or paralysis: it was not fun.

In short, the challenge did not stop there – I was also unable to play or edit iPhone HEVC videos with old version QuickTime, Photos, Final Cut Pro, iMovie, Windows Media Player, Adobe, etc. So, the reserve was not also easy. Simply, 4K 60PFS iPhone videos would not play smoothly on VLC and other video players. The GoPro video a friend has sent me did not also play in that iPhone. With that, I knew I needed to invest time and resources to find the best way to overcome these challenges including the inability to play some music files; I made it happen and discovered a great solution that fixed all these frictions: VideoProc.

VideoProc is the best iPhone video converter in the world right now. VideoProc is a versatile 4K video processing tool powered by GPU acceleration. It assists users to convert video and audio formats easily with no quality loss, and offers convenient video edit, compression, download, record features. Also, a user can convert iPhone video parameters such as frame rate, bit rate, resolution to make video play smoothly on 3rd party video players (e.g. convert 4K 60PFS video to 30FPS) or reduce file size. And my very best – convert iPhone video to GIF to enable sharing on Twitter and social media. The ease and simplicity is legendary in all ways.

VideoProc also fixed my challenges by enabling the capacity to prepare contents for iPhone. With VideoProc, I was able to convert MKV, FLV, AVI, etc to MP4, MOV for successful playback on iPhone. Using it also, one can convert music to AAC, MP3, AIFF, M4A, etc for playback on iPhone besides the capacity to convert camera, drone, GoPro videos to iPhone compatible format and parameters at one click. Nothing was excluded as it has the capability to also prepare music for iPhone ringtone in addition to making 3D video resources to come in the 2D for iPhone playback. It is a heavy-duty solution which is simply great.

The following are some of the major features of this VideoProc software:

Dyson Quits on UK and Brexit, Moving Headquarters to Singapore

0

Like I always say: if parents answered all our requests, we would be in trouble! UK has Brexit (supporting UK leaving the EU block) but UK will lose a “great British success story” as Dyson moves its headquarters from London to Singapore. Sure, the man who owns 100% of Dyson noted that it was not about Brexit but “future-proofing” the business.

Sir James Dyson, the British billionaire inventor and outspoken Brexiter who called on the government to walk away from the EU without a deal, is moving the headquarters of his vacuum cleaner and hair dryer technology company to Singapore.

The Dyson chief executive, Jim Rowan, said the move from Wiltshire to Singapore had “nothing to do with Brexit” but was about “future-proofing” the business. The move of Dyson’s legal entity from the UK to Singapore “will happen over the coming months”, meaning it could take place before Brexit.

Sir James, who owns 100% of the company and has built up a £9.5bn personal fortune, did not comment on the move.

Call that styling with queen’s English: this man is afraid of losing global market if he has to be trapped inside UK, post-Brexit. Remember: Singapore and the EU agreed a landmark free trade agreement which means that UK companies can easily play EU from Singapore.

No matter what you will like to see, the future of the world is coming together, because that is the only destination. Like the digital computing network effect, we now have the national opportunity network effect which happens when nations join global trade over just hiding in their closets.

UK will diminish in global influence as it exits EU and that is what it surely wants. Unfortunately, its own bests are already not giving it a trial moment before quitting. You can call this an own-goal!

Lessons From The Masterful Brickmaker

0

No matter what you were taught in school, business comes down to ADDITION, and addition of customers. If you are lucky to add the right customers, you will find glory.

As a secondary school kid, I followed a kinsman to buy bricks for his house project in the village. When we got there, the owner of the brick molding business offered us “nzu” (a white stone) which is a symbol of peace and growth in Igbo tradition (Nigeria). When new babies are born, villagers typically gather to share “nzu” because joy & growth has arrived!

As you dip your fingers to pick a little, and rub on your wrist, the man would usher “whatever has brought you here would flourish, and the funds where this project will come will flourish”. He was a master salesman who out-competed every other brick-maker in a largely commoditized business.

In business literature, commoditization is defined as the process by which goods that have economic value and are distinguishable in terms of attributes (uniqueness or brand) end up becoming simple commodities in the eyes of the market or consumers.

Mazi Ikea was not selling bricks; he was selling good wishes and fortunes to young men who visited home to start building projects. People associated his bricks with great favour and everyone bought from him.

Never underestimate the power of saying Thank You Sir for the opportunity to serve that customer. Find ways to deliver more than products – give intangibles that make you unique. You must sell bricks, packaged with good fortunes!
