The race to $1 for memecoins was in top gear in 2024, with some like Dogecoin edging close but failing to hit the mark. This rally is expected to kick on this year, with BONK as one of the contenders as its holders strive to keep erasing more zeroes from its price. However, new Ethereum-based altcoin Yeti Ouro (YETIO) has been predicted to pip BONK to this landmark price, and investors are gradually increasing their YETIO holdings in their portfolios as they await its mega rally.

BONK was among the top memecoins that rallied in last year’s bull rally, hitting a new all-time high at $0.0000579 in late November. However, it’s been downhill since then and the memecoin has dipped for three consecutive months, trading 70% below its ATH at the start of the week.

The short-term target looks gleam for BONK, according to most analysts. One analyst, CW, pointed out this week that the memecoin has been trapped in a bearish descending pattern since hitting its ATH in November, and every attempt to break out has been rebuffed. Since the start of February, the downward trend has slightly slowed down, however.

Another analyst pointed out that such a high number of price rejections for any asset “is not inspiring” and predicted that while it may reverse the downtrend, BONK will “grossly underperform versus other coins.”
However, as analyst Ridlr noted, the crypto market started out with lacklustre price movements in the first six weeks of 2024 as well, with some like BONK dipping nearly 80%. In the latter part of February, the momentum changed and the market recorded its most bullish year yet.
