At 2025 CMA Awards, Megan Moroney revealed her upcoming album, Cloud 9, will feature a blend of songs exploring themes of heartbreak and love.

There will not be just depressing music for depressed individuals on Megan Moroney's new album. But there might be those that do. The country singer stated that Cloud 9, which is scheduled for release on February 20, 2026, is based on her personal experiences, encompassing both the positive and negative aspects of being in a relationship.

"I literally write about my real life," at the 2025 CMA Awards on November 19, she made an exclusive revelation. "There will definitely be songs on the album where you're trying to put the pieces together."

Is the record going to be more about heartbreak or love? The singer of "Tennessee Orange" said, "A little bit of both."

The girlie aesthetic behind the record is more than just a fashion statement for Megan, who performed her hit "6 Months Later" during the award ceremony while wearing a glittery pink outfit.

"I chose pink because I think there is a softness about this music that isn’t in my other albums," in an interview aired on November 19, she informed Variety. "I think it’s come from the confidence that I have now. It’s about falling in love and falling out of love, but when you’re truly confident, it’s not the end of the world when it doesn’t work out."

She went on, "My other albums, maybe I perceived it as the end of the world. Now this new music is just more carefree and confident. So, I thought pink was a perfect color to feel empowering and confident, but also soft, and that’s what the new music is like.”

However, she stressed, "There is definitely still some heartbreakers," despite the positive tone of the new album.

"Writing sad songs is so easy for me, for whatever reason," she continued. "But even in the saddest songs, there’s so much hope and confidence that it’s gonna be OK, which is definitely a new theme that I explored in this album."
