Boston Rob Mariano from Survivor reveals his daughter was hospitalized due to a "pretty severe" reaction to a plant El Datilillo.

That sounds like a scary situation! Boston Rob Mariano shared that his daughter, Carina, had a severe reaction after being pricked by a plant while playing golf in Mexico. The reaction caused significant pain and led to a hospital visit, where doctors found fluid buildup near the affected area and prescribed antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medication. Thankfully, Carina is now feeling much better.

"She had a pretty severe reaction to the plant and was in a lot of pain," on Instagram Stories, he narrated. "The doctors did an ultrasound to look for the spine but instead found an abundance of fluid inside her knee near where the plant pricked her and prescribed some antibiotics and anti-inflammatories."

Thankfully, Rob, who also has three children with Amber: Lucia, 15, Isabetta, 13, and Adelina, 10, began to feel "far better" following treatment.

The culprit? A plant called El Datilillo, also known as The Spanish Dagger. It seems like an innocent name, but clearly, it packs a punch!

The 49-year-old who shared a photo of the plant also said, "We have identified the culprit El Datilillo, 'The Spanish Dagger.'"

The family vacation takes place over a month after Carina's middle school graduation. Rob remarked at the time that he "cried like a baby" at the teenager's academic performance.

"She received one of her schools' top honors, The Leadership award!" on May 21, he posted on Instagram. "I was so overcome with emotion."

In a note to his daughter, Rob said that he is "so proud" of Carina. "You are so kind and smart and beautiful, and you will succeed in whatever you do. You are a wonderful daughter and a great sister. You are a Champion! I love you with all of my heart!"

Rob also brought the family to Cabo San Lucas to celebrate the completion of another great school year. He spent Father's Day playing golf and lounging by the beach.

"Absolutely Perfect!!!" In a post on June 15, he shared, and subsequently added, "All #mygirls living their best lives this week."

Being among loved ones is the best feeling in the world, according to the Traitors star.

"We spend so much time together because we want to," in 2020, he stated this on the First-Class Fatherhood podcast. "That family aspect is the most important part of what I'm teaching my kids."

Good to hear she’s recovering—must have been a nerve-wracking experience for their family. Have you ever heard of this plant before?
