Brooklyn Peltz Beckham Responds to Rumors That His Wife Nicola Peltz Beckham “Controls” Him.
Brooklyn Peltz Beckham is standing up for his spouse, Nicola Peltz Beckham. The 26-year-old dispelled rumors that his choice to remove himself from his family was influenced by his ongoing conflict with his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, which he stated he has no desire to mend.
“The narrative that my wife controls me is completely backwards,” he posted on his Instagram Stories on January 19. “I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life.”
Brooklyn continued by saying that his upbringing had an impact on how he and 31-year-old Nicola intended to run their own home.

“My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation,” he added. “All we want [is] peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.”
As Brooklyn clarifies, “I'm not being controlled, I'm standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”
Reps for David and Victoria have been contacted by news organizations for comment.
Despite his efforts to bring his family together, Brooklyn accused his parents—who also have children Romeo Beckham, 23, Cruz Beckham, 20, and Harper Beckham, 14—of attempting to "ruin" his romance with Nicola prior to their 2022 vows.
“My wife has been consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we've tried to come together as one,” he claimed. “My mum has repeatedly invited women from my past into our lives in ways that were clearly intended to make us both uncomfortable.”
Brooklyn claims that he was also furious when Victoria, 51, allegedly "hijacked" the couple's first dance on his and Nicola's wedding day.
“In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead,” he remembered. “She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I've never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.”
However, Brooklyn stated that his general well-being has significantly changed after cutting links with Victoria and David, 50, adding that his "overwhelming anxiety" has vanished.
“For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared,” he penned. “I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose and have found peace and relief.”
