Eminem doesn't hesitate to represent his hometown. The "Love the Way You Lie" rapper made an unexpected appearance during Jack White's halftime show at the Detroit Lions vs. Green Bay Packers Thanksgiving game in the Motor City on November 27.
The rock singer invited his fellow Detroit native to the stage for a performance of the rapper's 2002 song "Till I Collapse" midway through the halftime show, which was executive produced by Eminem and his manager Paul Rosenberg. The audience erupted in applause.
Wearing a blue Lions varsity jacket over his trademark hoodie and ball cap, Eminem (born Marshall Mathers III) also made it obvious which side he was supporting during the performance.
According to a video on the Just a Little Shady podcast host's Instagram page, his 8-month-old grandson Elliot Marshall McClintock, whom his daughter Hailie Jade welcomed with husband Evan McClintock in March, watched from the stands while donning noise-cancelling earmuffs, making the Grammy winner's surprise performance all the more memorable.
Eminem's unwavering devotion to the Lions is, of course, widely known. He shared his passionate perspective on the team's legacy in an opener video for NBC's Sunday Night Football broadcast in 2024, during the Lions' game against the Los Angeles Rams.

“For far too long, Detroit has been on the receiving end of losing seasons and bad punch lines,” in the video package, he added. “You try to shut out the noise, but after a while, that starts to live in your head.”
“Detroit don't get a whole lot of Hollywood endings,” he went on, “but tonight, we have a shot. And we get our shot, well, you know what comes after that.”
On Turkey Day, football wasn't the only popular sport on television. Earlier in the day, celebrities like Cynthia Erivo, Ciara, and Jewel performed in the 99th edition of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.
Al Roker, Today's Savannah Guthrie, and a returning Hoda Kotb headlined the yearly show, which also had an unexpected highlight of its own. A young audience member delightfully said, "I did that yesterday!" when Al gave her tickets to see the Radio City Rockettes perform live.
However, there was more to the 2025 Macy's Thanksgiving Parade than that.
