Ethan Slater's admiration for his co-stars is causing him to dance through reality. In fact, the SpongeBob SquarePants stage actor sang the praises of Scarlett Spears, the 8-year-old who plays the younger version of Ariana Grande's Glinda in the movie, as he arrived at the New York City premiere of Wicked: For Good on November 17.
“You're so unbelievably good in this movie,” chatting with news outlets, Ethan revealed this to Scarlett. “I can't wait for people to see it. It's really so sweet. How cute.”
The 33-year-old cited his favorite aspect of playing Munchkin Boq and working on the film alongside director Jon M. Chu, Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Jonathan Bailey, Michelle Yeoh, and Jeff Goldblum, in addition to saying that Scarlett is "the best" in the Wicked sequel.
“Watching the first movie for the first time with an audience and feeling everybody experience what we had seen on set,” Ethan went on, “Jon Chu was able to take what we felt happening live on set and make it come through the screen.”
He went on, “There was nothing like it to feel that sort of warmth and connection to everyone.”
Ethan has also previously been outspoken about his costars. He thought about how he saw Ariana, whom he started dating throughout the movies, play the part of Glinda the Good Witch last year.
“She’s so funny,” last November, he made this statement on The Jennifer Hudson Show. “She’s a comedy genius. I mean, she’s amazing in this film.”

He went on to say, “I can’t wait for people to see the takes that didn’t make it in.”
However, Ethan also praised the entire cast of Wicked.
“Everyone’s amazing in this film,” he went on. “Cynthia and Ari bring depth to these roles. The women who have played these roles on stage are incredible. But when you’re doing a film, you’re so close.”
