Why is Ashley launching a new project, then?
"I’ve been Ashley French for so long at home," in an Instagram video posted on November 17, the 40-year-old clarified. "But I’ve never really changed [my name] publicly because everybody knows me as Ashley Tisdale. I just felt like it was time for people to know me for me, and not just for a character or a celebrity."
In addition, Ashley wants her social media accounts to showcase her newly launched website, By Ashley French, where she intends to chronicle her life as a mother to Emerson, 13, and Jupiter, 4.
In her own words, “I've never been this intimate before, but I have so much to talk about."
"Everyone always has something to say, and it might not be positive—not that I want to block out the negativity," the actress went on. "But I felt like in order to protect my peace, I didn’t want to keep sharing that way."
Ashley recently wrote in a blog post about her "midlife awakening" a few years ago, which inspired her to launch her beauty brand Frenshe—another reference to her and her husband's last name.
"The truth is, most people hit that 'now what?' wall at some point. They just don’t talk about it," she authored. "A lot of us are pretending that we have a plan, while inside we’re terrified we missed our chance."
Ashley went on to say, "But I’ve learned that it’s okay to live in the questions. If you’re in your own 'now what' moment, I just want you to know that you’re not behind, and you're definitely not finished. You’re still becoming. And that’s exactly where you’re supposed to be."
