How Marge Simpson Resurfaced on The Simpsons Following Her Demise.

Officially, Marge Simpson is alive again. On the season 37 premiere of The Simpsons, the character made her eagerly awaited comeback to the Fox series, several months after the show shocked viewers by killing off the beloved matriarch in a flash-forward.
In the Sept. 28 episode, Marge tried to get close to Lisa Simpson by showing her daughter Keagan's Pond, an adolescent drama akin to Dawson's Creek, which was her favorite old school TV show. Marge was motivated by the trip down memory lane to unpack and dust out her old '90s items, which Lisa used to revamp her wardrobe with a stylish retro look.
Lisa immediately established herself as the most fashionable student at Springfield Elementary, and some of her fashionable peers even adopted her.
However, Lisa knew her new friends were trouble after the clique devised a scheme to steal vintage clothing from all the mothers in Springfield. Fortunately, Marge intervened to protect Lisa from the illicit activities, strengthening the bond between the mother and daughter.
Lisa apologized to her mother, "I'm so sorry mom. You just wanted to bond with me, and I ruined it. I'm such a terrible daughter."
Even though Lisa was grounded for her misbehavior, the two of them eventually learned from it.
Citing a passage from Keagan's Pond, Marge reassured Lisa, "Remember: I'm with you for the long haul. As long as there's a pond and a ladder, I'll be there."
Viewers who were alarmed by Marge's death in the season 36 finale were undoubtedly relieved by her touching return.
In the May 18 episode of "Estranger Things," Marge's worst nightmare came true when her oldest children, Bart and Lisa, drifted apart. The matriarch, played by Julie Kavner, then pictured the family's future, which included their eventual reunion to take care of an elderly Homer, much to Marge's delight as she watched from heaven.
Matt Selman, the program executive producer, attempted to repair some of the damage after Marge's terrible destiny was made public by telling viewers that she was not permanently gone.
“Obviously since The Simpsons future episodes are all speculative fantasies, they’re all different every time,” Selman stated in a June 26 interview with Variety. “Marge will probably never be dead ever again. The only place Marge is dead is in one future episode that aired six weeks ago.”
Nevertheless, Selman found the public uproar to be promising.
“I guess this speaks to the fact that people care about Marge,” he went on. “At the end of the day, it’s probably good for business even when these ridiculous, misleading stories go viral!”
Fox broadcasts The Simpsons on Sundays at 8 p.m.
