Over the last few weeks, we have seen things in the Nigerian business-sphere that SEC cannot just ignore. From Bitcoin exchanges to local cryptocurrency to initial coin offerings; they are emerging. Yes, all these are happening in Nigeria.
The SEC cannot pretend that it is not aware. They could learn from the U.S. SEC which has created a Cyber Unit.

Quote from Francis Oguaju on December 9, 2017, 2:24 PMSEC: the regulators' regulator that oftentimes struggles to regulate itself. Its office complex is big enough to house all its cyber-related needs. The Commission has remained traditional for too long, let the corporate governance hangover be dealt with first; at the moment, something is not working well there.
