Rachel Lindsay Calls Out “cruel” Ex-Husband Bryan Abasolo Over Spousal Support Dispute.

One thorn in Rachel Lindsay's heart was her split from Bryan Absolo. The Bachelor Nation star actually seems "free" since she has paid her ex-husband her last installment of spousal support.

"I felt powerless that I didn’t have a prenup,” on the Pop Syllabus podcast's February 11th session, Rachel discussed. “He took so much from me."

She added, "He was ruthless about it, there was no compromising."

One year following Bryan filed for legal separation, Rachel, 40, and Bryan, 45, formalized their split in January 2025. Rachel consented to pay her ex a flat payment of $500,000 in alimony as part of the settlement.

"I felt powerful that I was able to do it in a year," stated Rachel, who met Bryan during the 13th season of The Bachelorette and got married to him in 2019. ''Like, 'I paid you off, I’m still here, I’m still surviving.'"

In retrospect, the former lawyer claimed that she assumed "societal pressures" to get married quickly. In her own words, "I wanted a prenup. I talked to him about a prenup. He did not want it."

"It was kind of a perfect storm as to why I ended up moving forward with the marriage, even though I saw the issues," Rachel went on. "The narrative that I couldn't be loved because I focused so much on career, all of that was in me."

She now hopes that other women would take a lesson from her "public and messy" split.

"I had to let go of the fear, the shame and the embarrassment of getting a divorce," according to Rachel, she is interested in challenging the idea that she "has it all together."

She continued, "And this divorce showed some of that."

Bryan has not responded to requests for comment from news organizations. But according to the doctor, his marriage to Rachel died because he was "emotionally and psychologically beaten down."

“We didn’t spend enough time with each other,” in a 2024 YouTube video, he informed Rene Garcia, a divorce therapist. “In my estimation, we saw what the other person was doing in the relationship, mainly on Instagram, although we lived in the same house."

Regarding his choice to file for divorce, Bryan stated, "My priority in that moment was to protect my mental health and just relieve the pressure."
