In the post's caption, the 45-year-old thanked followers for their support during his medical journey and said, "Just almost died! I’m alive because of your prayers."
Ray J claimed that Shila Hasanoff, a castmate from Love Cabin, was "sitting in the f--king hospital, just watching me be sick," as was his elder sister Brandy.
"There's a few people that's helped me kind of survive this," he added. "I love you, Sheila."
However, Ray J had already experienced pneumonia. Following the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, he also sought treatment for the lung illness.
"I thought it was over," he explained to TMZ at the time how, despite testing negative for the respiratory virus, he shared a hospital wing with COVID-19 victims. "I started praying and knew God is good, so I just kept praying."
The For the Love of Ray J actor was juggling his divorce from Princess Love, with whom he has a 7-year-old daughter named Melody and a 5-year-old son named Epik, during his medical crises.
After the court rejected their prior divorce application, the on-again, off-again couple declared their most recent split in 2024.
“After much reflection, discussion, and counseling, we have come to the difficult realization that our paths have diverged, and it is in the best interest of both of us to part ways," Princess said in her statement to People. “We want to reassure you that this decision was made thoughtfully and with mutual respect and consideration for each other’s well-being."
She continued, "While our relationship as spouses may be coming to an end, we remain committed to co-parenting our children and maintaining a positive and supportive family dynamic."
