T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach, the former GMA3 hosts, revealed their engagement three years after their workplace romance became public.

For T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach, it is not just a wonderful morning—it is a great day. By formally becoming Mr. & Mrs., the former hosts of GMA3: What You Need to Know are escalating their romance.

“We are sharing with all of you that we are engaged," Amy stated during their Amy & T.J. podcast's October 14 episode. "We’ve been engaged for just about a month now.”

When their courtship was first made public back in 2022, when they were spotted packing on the PDA during a New York outing, T.J. joked that they were revealing the news on their podcast so it could be on their terms, a privilege they were not granted.

“We wanted to let you all know before anybody else was able to," he made a joke. "We’ve learned that lesson, I guess, in the past about our relationship."

That does not imply that the couple has been hiding, though.

“I was in three massive football stadiums three weekends in a row, wearing my engagement ring very proudly, very excitedly, and kept waiting for somebody to point it out or ask me, ‘Hey, what’s that?’" Amy revealed. "And it never happened.”

The couple also stated that they were presently only "celebrating with family," even though they had pledged to disclose specifics about how T.J. proposed.

When T.J. referred to Amy as more than simply his girlfriend a few months prior to their engagement, the couple ignited speculations that they were getting married.

On the May 21 episode of their I Do Part 2 podcast, which they co-host with Jennie Garth and Jana Kramer, he introduced himself as T.J. Holmes. "My person, my partner, my spouse," he said. "I'm T.J. Holmes alongside my friend, my partner, my podcast cohost Amy Robach."

T.J., 47, swiftly reiterated Amy's suggestion that she include the phrase "love of my life" in her introduction, saying, "That you had to feed me that line is a little disturbing."

When Amy wore a diamond ring on her left hand on a date night at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards in March, the duo also attracted attention.

In fact, their engagement is only the most recent significant turning point in their well reported courtship. Following their 2022 workplace romance, which resulted in their departure from ABC News in early 2023, Amy and T.J. finalized their divorces from their respective spouses, Andrew Shue, a graduate of Melrose Place, and Marilee Fiebig, who they both claimed to have been apart from at the start of their romance.

Two relationships sprang from the breakups: Andrew and Marilee, who has an 11-year-old daughter named Sabine with the journalist, started dating a few months after T.J. and Amy's relationship was made public. They made their red-carpet debut in December 2024.

Regarding T.J. and Amy, they have been candid about their future plans in the years since their long-standing friendship turned amorous.

“We haven’t figured the marriage thing out yet,” in an episode of their Amy and T.J. podcast from April 2024, Amy informed the audience. “We haven’t decided whether or not we are going to officially get married.”

Amy went on to say that many couples are happy together but never get married.

“They wake up and choose to be together,” Amy mentioned the 40-year partnership between Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell in particular. “There’s no legal binding document that says they have to be together.”

Even though it took some time for the podcast co-hosts to make their love public, once word of their romance spread, they did not hide their feelings for one another.

Amy, the mother of Ava, 22, and Annalise, 17, along with her first husband Tim McIntosh, told T.J. in an April 2024 episode of their Amy and T.J. podcast, "I have said this to you, and I believe you have said it to me as well, that I want to be with you for the rest of my life." "Mentally, emotionally, we have absolutely agreed to commit to each other," Amy said.
