As the investigation into Celeste Rivas Hernandez's death progresses, new information has come to light. Before the car was towed to a Hollywood impound lot, detectives served a search warrant for the Hollywood Hills property where the 15-year-old's body was found in the front trunk of a Tesla registered to singer D4vd on September 8, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Investigators retrieved a variety of things from the Sunset Blvd. residence, including computers and devices, according to law enforcement sources who were aware of the case but were not permitted to speak to the media. Although D4vd (real name David Anthony Burke) does not own the property, law enforcement. sources previously informed ABC News that he allegedly stayed at the rental house prior to starting his Withered World Tour at the beginning of the summer.
News organizations have contacted the LAPD but have not received a response.
According to the Times, robbery-homicide investigators with the Los Angeles Police Department are looking into the case as authorities continue to piece together the relationship between Rivas Hernandez and D4vd.
The LAPD has yet to name a suspect or person of interest in the case. On September 17, a representative for D4vd told NBC News that the 20-year-old is "fully cooperating with the authorities." The singer of "Romantic Homicide" also canceled the remaining dates of his tour, and his website currently shows no concerts.
First found in the Hollywood impound lot, Rivas Hernandez's body was reported to the police because of "foul odor coming from a vehicle." The youngster, whose body was recognized, was reported missing from Lake Elsinore, California, a city around 70 miles from Los Angeles, on April 5, 2024. When she vanished, she was thirteen years old.
Records from the Medical Examiner's Office viewed on Sept. 17 showed that her cause of death was deferred, with the date of death listed as Sept. 8—the day her body was found. Officials noted that her body was "severely decomposed" and appeared to have been in the car for a long time before it was found.
According to the LA Times, Rivas Hernandez was reported missing at least three times in 2024, according to information provided by the Riverside County Sheriff's Office.
The Los Angeles County Coroner told TMZ that her body was given to her relatives on September 23.
