Facebook Next Domination – To Sell Ads via Like and Share Buttons, On Your Site

0

People, know this – the web is being eaten us by Facebook. It is that simple as they have defined what a web 2.0 is and what the next one will become. When you have a blog and do not have that Like and Share button, the blog is not complete. That means, we willingly like to interface Facebook buttons to our sites and blogs.

But what if Facebook decides that anyone that interfaces to these buttons will receive ads through those buttons thereby ‘owing’ all the websites that have the buttons? This can happen. You can suddenly see Facebook ads popping up from the locked up platform.

This is the next phase of Facebook metamorphosis and Google should be worried. There are many more firms with Facebook button today that the Buzz and if they impose themselves on us all, it can change the game. The closed platform will remain for the users, but the marketers can work out of it via the buttons.

Tekedia believes that this idea will arrive by Q2 2012 and it will change the game of advertising.  Imaging if a technology blog likes ours is structured that the Like and Share buttons are extension of tech related ads from Facebook. It will happen because Facebook has huge footprints across the web. And many will rejoice for another means of monetizing contents via ads.

Zoom Mobile To Raise $200m In Private Placement – Targets 10m subscribers in 3 yrs

0

Zoom Mobile, a CDMA operator, like Starcomms, is targeting 10 million users via its 0707 series of numbering plan in Nigeria.

Ken Aigbinode, Executive Vice Chairman of the company, made this known, stating that the firm has mapped out strategies to achieve the ambitious target in three years time.

“In the next three years, it should be possible for us to approach the 10 million mark. This will however depend on the investment money we pump into this objective. I believe that when our public offer breaks, we would have raised all the money we require to achieve this goal,” Aigbinode said.

“By the time we are through with the first phase of that expansion, that will be an unassailable mileage of the CDMA segment of the industry,” he said

The company has gone through private placement to raise $200 million and that fund will be injected to realize the  10 million subscriber  target.

“All these and proceeds from the planned public offer will go into our expansion ambition”, he added.

China Sending Robots To The Moon – Now That Is Technical Leadership

0

The opening keynote at this year’s IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, in Shanghai, was given by Ziyuan Ouyang, the chief scientist of China’s lunar exploration program, which is quite possibly the most active lunar program in the world right now. Ouyang confirmed that, yes, China is planning to send robots to the moon, and he revealed interesting details about the project.

For the past four years, China has been engaged in a three-phase plan that will ultimately culminate in a lunar rover and a lunar sample return mission, scheduled to take place in 2013 and 2017 respectively. The first phase was the Chang’e-1 lunar orbiter, which was launched in 2007 and created multispectral maps of the surface of the moon while also using a laser altimeter to generate a high-resolution 3D map.

Here are the plans:

Textile – It Is Still a Technology With Huge Opportunities

0

Yes, you will be surprised that we are writing of textile. This is a technology media and not social media. So, we cover everything – from textile to electronics and all through pharmacy.

In 2006 there were 220.000 companies in Textile and clothing (T&C industry) regions of the EU-27 employing 2.5 million people and generated a turnover of €190 billion says European commission. T&C industry is a diverse and heterogeneous industry which covers an important number of activities from the transformation of fibres to yarns and fabrics to the production of a wide variety of products such as hi-tech synthetic yarns, wool, bed-linen, industrial filters, geo-textiles, clothing etc.

We Nigerians can also take our destiny in our hands by getting involved in clothing line that will serve this nation and other Africans. This is why I’m raising this topic so as to give room for ideas and question in the minds of meaning entrepreneurs.

Have you ever wanted to own your own clothing line?

Do you think there is untapped opportunity in this industry?

Is there any way to help young entrepreneurs in this industry?

How can we increase level of information in this untapped opportunity?
