Last year, we created thousands of jobs in Nigeria. Today, 12 brilliant engineers began new careers in Nigeria. In total, we expect the numbers to hit 60 technical team members by the end of the month for this new startup. They will build something truly amazing.
You may not believe this: Nigeria will not have enough young people to fill positions if we get our economy firing on all cylinders. I mean, if you’re graduating about 400k young people yearly, in an economy that should be adding 2 million annual jobs, you will flip the current unemployment paralysis to one where you cannot even find enough people to hire.
I believe in that possibility. I have explained the 6-pillar plan we need to execute as a nation. The first is structurally making corruption harder by working to prevent it instead of just fighting it; I will turn EFCC and ICPC to be measured on how many loopholes they closed rather than how many corruption cases they pursued or won.
