Obi and Atiku Should Challenge The Outcome of Nigeria 2023 Presidential Results

0

For the sham which INEC orchestrated in the name of an election, I move the motion for Obi and Atiku to begin a legal challenge of the result. While we understand the reality that Tinubu has been declared the president-elect (I acknowledge it and already planning for that future), I also want to activate the reality that Nigerians need to examine why INEC became exceedingly incompetent.

I have looked at historical data since 1999, the 2023 election is the most unfortunate.

In 2023, Nigeria has 93.4 million voters but 21 million made the final decision.

In 2019, the total voters were 84 million and 26 million made the call.

In the last poll I shared here, it said that Obi wins if turnout is huge, and Tinubu wins if turnout is low. And the model was that turnout would be High, at least beating the 2019 number. But somehow, we lost 5 million votes despite adding close to 10 million new voters.

For academic purposes since there is largely nothing the court can do since INEC itself does not understand what it is doing, we need to look deeper as a nation, so that we can advance. I want the legal debate so that hopefully we can have reforms. In 2015, Rivers State had an excess of 1.5 million votes ; in 2023, it had less than 500,000 votes. That repeated across the nation!

My motion goes beyond Senator Tinubu, I think Nigeria needs to advance on this. Obi and Atiku must challenge this as a way of healing the land because that process must happen

(While that happens, be a realistic person and build on it because on May 29, 2023, Mr. Tinubu will take the oath. Plan)

Cybersafety: Proven Ways to Keep your Children Safe Online

0

Parenting has always been challenging, especially in the digital age. The advent of social media has equally fraught it with even more challenges. Children now have more access to technology and the internet, which seeps into everything they do, from learning to playing. The internet is a world on its own, with its challenges, and continuous usage has created concern for mindful parents.

When a child is not duly protected against it, they risk being bullied, one of the many dangers that can come upon an unsuspecting child. Parents want their kids to be safe and will do their best to protect them.

How Cybersecurity Affects Your Children

Children are spending much of their time online now more than ever. Most kids aren’t aware of the dangers they are up against. Cyberbullying is a form of bullying using online means and is increasingly common as the digital space has expanded and technology has advanced.

Many parents would like to believe they have the lid regarding their children’s online activities, as explained in this ExpressVPN article, parents aren’t as aware of social media issues. Kids who frequent social media are often oblivious to the harm it can cause and are, thus, at the mercy of online predators. Parents should get involved and adopt better ways to navigate online challenges and keep their children safe.

Besides cyberbullying, UNICEF states Cyberconflict as another online threat to children, directly or indirectly. Some other online risks children are exposed to include exploitation, abuse, exposure to inappropriate content, privacy and data breaches, trafficking, and other subtle threats to their well-being.

Most parents assume that their kids are savvier than them and should know their way around the internet. This could be true, but children can’t fully protect themselves from online risks. Ensuring safety for your kids online is not rocket science and does not necessarily require extensive technical knowledge. There are simple steps parents can undertake to provide security and protection for their kids.

Online Safety Tips That Can Help You Keep Your Kids Safe

Educate Them

Don’t ever think that your kids are too tender to understand the concept of cybersecurity. Explain to them how the internet works and teach them about cybersecurity. When they know, they can look out for themselves online.

You could add bookmarks to their browsers to direct them toward safer websites. NetSmartz offers free resources to educate children and adults on being safe online.

Update Your Software & Enable Parental Control

Make sure to update your software or hardware to the newest version but be cautious of downloading untrustworthy materials.

Most devices come with child protection controls which can be enabled under settings. To further strengthen the “control,” you can create a strong password on your home wireless network and set time limits per user for browsing.

Be Approachable

Keep lines of communication open and let your children know they can come to you with any questions, confusion, or problems they might have encountered online. Get involved in their activities and know who they are talking to.

We live in a digital world, and thus, cybersecurity is a foremost concern for everyone. Keeping your kids safe is of as much importance too. With the proper safety measures set in place, it can go a long way to keep children safe online.

Acceptance Speech of Nigeria’s President-elect Bola Tinubu (full text)

3

Acceptance speech delivered by president-elect Bola Tinubu, in the early hours of Wednesday after he was declared the winner of 2023 Nigeria’s presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Read the full speech below:

My fellow Nigerians,

I am profoundly humbled that you have elected me to serve as the 16th president of our beloved republic. This is a shining moment in the life of any man and affirmation of our democratic existence. From my heart, I say thank you.

Whether you are Batified, Atikulated, Obidient, Kwankwasiyya, or have any other political affiliation, you voted for a better, more hopeful nation and I thank you for your participation and dedication to our democracy.

You decided to place your trust in the democratic vision of a Nigeria founded on shared prosperity and one nurtured by the ideals of unity, justice, peace and tolerance. Renewed hope has dawned in Nigeria.

We commend INEC for running a free and fair election. The lapses that did occur were relatively few in number and were immaterial to the final outcome. With each cycle of elections, we steadily perfect this process so vital to our democratic life.

Today, Nigeria stands tall as the giant of Africa. It shines even brighter as the continent’s biggest democracy.

I thank all who supported my campaign. From President Buhari who adeptly led my campaign as its chairman, to my Vice Presidential Candidate, Senator Kashim Shettima.

To the progressive governors of our party and this nation, to the party leadership, to our loyal party members. I owe you a debt of gratitude. To the entire campaign organization, I thank you sincerely.

I thank my loving wife and dear family whose support was ceaseless and inspiring. Without you, this victory would not be possible.

I am grateful to Almighty God. By His mercy, I was born a son of Nigeria and through His sublime purpose I find myself the victor of this election. May He grant me the wisdom and courage to lead the nation to the greatness He alone has destined for it.

Finally, I thank the Nigerian people for their abiding belief in our democracy. I shall be a fair leader to all Nigerians. I will be in tune with your aspirations, charge up your energies and harness your talents to deliver a nation that we can be proud of.

To my fellow candidates, former VP Atiku, former governor Kwankwaso, former governor Obi and all others, I extend the hand of friendship. This was a competitive, high-spirited campaign.

You have my utmost respect.

Political competition must now give way to political conciliation and inclusive governance.

During the election, you may have been my opponent but you were never my enemy. In my heart, you are my brothers.

Still, I know some candidates will be hard put to accept the election results. It is your right to seek legal recourse. What is neither right nor defensible is for anybody to resort to violence. Any challenge to the electoral outcome should be made in a court of law, and not in the streets.

I also ask my supporters to let peace reign and tensions fade. We ran a principled, peaceful and progressive campaign. The aftermath of our campaign must be as benign.

Yes, there are divisions amongst us that should not exist. Many people are uncertain, angry and hurt; I reach out to every one of you. Let the better aspects of our humanity step forward at this fateful moment. Let us begin to heal and bring calm to our nation.

Now, to you, the young people of this country, I hear you loud and clear. I understand your pains, your yearnings for good governance, a functional economy and a safe nation that protects you and your future.

I am aware that for many of you Nigeria has become a place of abiding challenges limiting your ability to see a bright future for yourselves.

Remodeling our precious national home requires the harmonious efforts of all of us, especially the youth. Working together, we shall move this nation as never before.

My running mate, Vice President-elect Shettima, and I understand the challenges ahead. More importantly, we also understand and deeply value the talent and innate goodness of you, the Nigerian people. We pledge to listen and to do the difficult things, the big deeds that put us on the path of irreversible progress. Hold us firmly to account, but please give us a chance first.

Together, we shall build a brighter and more productive society for today, tomorrow and for years to come.

Today, you have given me the greatest honor you can bestow on one man.

In return, I will give you my utmost as your next president and commander-in-chief. Peace, unity and prosperity shall be the cornerstones of the society we intend to build. When you gaze upon what we shall accomplish in the coming years, you shall speak with pride at being a Nigerian.

I thank you all.

God bless you all.

God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Nigeria’s 2023 Election Lacks Transparency – EU Election Observer Mission

0

The European Union Election Observer Mission (EU EOM) has raised concerns about the 2023 Senatorial, House of Reps and presidential election in Nigeria.

The EU EOM, which has 110 observers from EU member states and Canada, Norway, and Switzerland who monitor the conduct of the election, said that electoral exercise has been undermined by many inconsistencies.

The observers said in their preliminary report that confidence in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) significantly waned during the election due to the electoral body’s lack of sufficient planning.

“Millions of Nigerian voters cast their vote in the Presidential, Senate and House of Representatives elections despite prevailing challenges. I commend the patience of voters as well as the commitment of youth, who have contributed hugely to the democratic process,” said Barry Andrews, the head observer, the EU EOM.

While acknowledging that INEC’s efficiency was hindered by the recent cash shortage, Andrews said voters trust in the electoral umpires further deteriorated because of the irregularities which marred the election, including lack of transparency.

“Overall, stakeholders had expressed confidence in INEC’s independence, professionalism, and voter information efforts, but this decreased ahead of elections. INEC lacked efficient planning and transparency during critical stages of the electoral process, while on election day trust in INEC was seen to further reduce due to delayed polling processes and information gaps related to much anticipated access to results on its Results Viewing Portal (IReV),” he said.

Andrews said that besides lack of transparency, their findings showed that election day was marked by late deployment and opening and that polling procedures were not always followed.

The 2022 Electoral Act stipulated that election results be transmitted electronically to INEC portal from every polling unit. This law was apparently not followed. Andrew said that they witnessed poll workers having trouble filling out the forms with the results that were then not posted online.

He said even though the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, BVAS, and the INEC Results Viewing Portal (IReV) were implemented to ensure the polls were credible, the BVAS did not work as expected when it came to uploading the results, which raised concerns.

Other observer groups have also raised concern about the conduct of the election, with most agreeing with the EU EOM that the exercise lacks transparency.

However, Andrew, on behalf of the group, sued for calm while the collation of result is still ongoing.

“The tabulation exercise is still ongoing, and we will follow the processes until the end. I encourage stakeholders to continue demonstrating commitment to a peaceful process – before and after the results are announced. Any dispute arising from the electoral process should be addressed through established legal channels,” he urged.

Dogetti Could Rank High As a Top Meme Coin According to Market Analysts

0

New meme coins entering the crypto market isn’t a new thing; it happens every now and then. Most of them go on to add numbers to the statistics of existing meme projects in the market without any impact or prominence.

However, Dogetti (DETI) is unlikely to end up this way, according to analysts. The new cryptocurrency is predicted to rank high among the top meme coins in the market, and a closer look at the meme coin shows it’s highly possible.

What is Dogetti (DETI)?

Dogetti (DETI) is one of the most anticipated new crypto projects in the crypto space. The Ethereum-based ecosystem with meme-related features will have a native token called DETI, which will perform utility functions in the Dogetti ecosystem, and double as a cryptocurrency crypto investors can consider for purchasing.

Dogetti is concerned with building a strong family while providing wealth-enhancing opportunities for every family member. The crypto project will provide a steady income stream for community members (DETI holders) through a buy-back reflection protocol that allows each person to get a 2% reward for every transaction on Dogetti.

The new meme coin is dog-themed and will have about 100 billion total supply, with half of the total volume available to the community on presale. DETI presale could begin anytime soon, and like other meme coins before it, joining the presale earlier may prove beneficial.

Why Dogetti Can Possibly Rank High Amongst Top Meme Coins?

Apart from Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB), not very many meme coins can boast of much prominence and success over the years. All hope now lies on the new generation of meme coins to restore the meme glory, and Dogetti (DETI) could be a part of the projects that will bring that to fruition.

Here are factors that place Dogetti (DETI) in a great position to succeed:

  • Community-focused Approach

Unlike the conventional profit-oriented approach of most projects, Dogetti is more concerned with building a thriving community that can benefit all members. Putting users at the forefront of a project is an effective technique that increases potential longevity and ensures the project doesn’t die off suddenly. The Dogetti community will be exposed to constant rewards, increasing members’ active participation in community development. The larger the project’s community gets, the more prominent Dogetti will be in the long run.

  • Benefitting Utilities

Dogetti utility includes an exchange swap, a DAO, and collections of unique digital pets (NFTs). These utilities will greatly benefit users and play vital roles in improving Dogetti’s (DETI) value. The DogettiSwap will make crypto asset swaps less costly while ensuring users enjoy optimum transaction times. This will attract more users to the platform.

Dogetti is required to complete any transactions in the ecosystem. Thus, it will improve the number of token holders. The crypto project also has a DAO, which is instrumental in decision-making and issues concerning Dogetti development. Only token holders can be members of this DAO. Each member will have voting rights and can equally contribute to deliberations concerning the project.

The meme coin’s NFTs will be a good asset for holders. It is billed to rise in worth in the coming years, and minting and breeding as early as possible position holders for a huge gain. The Dogetti NFT is the last of its utilities for now, but there are indications that the project will have more features and beneficial applications.

Final Words

Although the coin market has many dog-themed meme coins already, Dogetti (DETI) still has a high propensity to stand out. Apart from its clearly stated utility that can attract adopters, its family bonding approach will make every user feel like the project owner. This will increase the possibility of success. Dogetti (DETI) will go on presale soon, and with a massive reception, the meme coin could turn out to be the next big thing.
