It is still looking hard for Uber – the very reason I believe that Uber and Lyft will come together very soon. Yes, everyone will see that these companies are not making money and would be allowed to at least survive through merger. Despite raising last private fund at close to $100 billion, the public market value remains less than $70 billion.
Uber lost $1 billion last quarter. It was the first earnings report for the ride-hailing giant as a public company, and was in line with estimates detailed in IPO documents. Sales and marketing costs jumped while revenue growth was the slowest in years. The results come amid a bumpy few months for Uber, as what was supposed to be a triumphant public listing instead stumbled.
It’s Friday. At the end of work today, take 15 minutes to review how the week went. Did you do more that was expected from you? If not, note immediately how you can mitigate the lapses. Until you can do more on current responsibilities, you will not qualify yourself for that next promotion. No matter what, feel great, reward your mind with optimism as you leave office – and make sure you show admiration for that company. Until you like where you work, you will struggle to do the best work therein.
If you do not like your teacher, you will likely not do well in that class.
If you do not like your school, you will likely struggle in your program.
If you do not like your nation, you will likely see only obstacles.
The greatest challenge is the Liberation of the mind. Just as the crickets sing, and the nightingales deliver the melodies, your mind can condition your awareness and observation.
MTN Group wants to stay focused on the broad telecom business and out of the distractions of investments. The South Africa’s telecom giant plans to sell interest in Amadeus to HarbourVest for $83 million, Reuters reports. It has already gotten an exit path on Jumia when the company got listed in the NYSE.
South African telecoms company MTN said on Tuesday it would sell its interest in investment fund Amadeus to private equity firm HarbourVest for around 1.2 billion rand ($83 million).
MTN said the sale, which also includes its associated holding in online travel booking website TravelStart, was part of a plan to realise 15 billion rand worth of capital over the next three years, simplify its portfolio and reduce risk.
Love yourself and I mean you – yes, yourself. Many of us do not really like ourselves. Until you begin to appreciate you, you will not have the energy and motivation to move to the next level. Many who rose to the mountaintop like Nelson Mandela experienced the cracking of their shells. But instead of the agonies of pains, they released abundance and hope, elements of societal priceless gems, which changed the destinies of people.
The key is this: do not give up because the NEXT chapter could be awesome.
You enjoy peace of mind only when you live your own life, the trouble begins from the moment you choose to live another person’s life, from there comes identity crisis. If you cannot reflect or think about yourself and feel great, then you have a problem. Nothing is sweeter than reminding yourself that there is no another you elsewhere. Your uniqueness cannot be replicated, so take time and savour the moments, it is by loving yourself that you can qualify to love others or anything else. Celebrate yourself!
The Holy book says “Love thy neighbor as yourself ” Yourself- The only way to spread goodwill is to have goodwill- Inside out! When you consider yourself as a Blessing to Humanity you would spread love, promote unity and share kindness to your fellow man. Look deeply into yourself find what makes you unique, refine it and make the world a better place! Good evening everyone!

Do not be too hard on yourself. The biggest challenge is making sure you measure what matters – your friend’s career trajectory must not be the same as yours. Life is not just about higher wages. While it is great to aim high, it is also good to appreciate progress you have made. Do not live another’s life – work hard to discover yours. You are not really wasting away! The future offers a promise. Yes, a former shoemaker became a CEO in old GE and gave GE one of its golden moments.
If you are worried if you can redesign your career, I want to remind you that the man that built General Electric (yes, GE) was a former shoemaker. Without Charles Coffin, GE would have died many decades ago. He negotiated with Morgan Stanley and saved GE during the panic of 1893.
He established the industrial research lab upon which GE depended to win wars – economic, social and military – for America. He was a shoemaker long before Reginald Jones and Jack Welch made GE global. Thomas Edison might have shared his heritage with GE, but the shoemaker is the reason we have GE [we hope the modern GE survives its present upheavals].
Despite where you are today, always remember that men and women have gone ahead to do great things despite their “poor” beginnings. I know you are not a shoemaker [nothing wrong with that of course]. No one can fix the ceiling of your promise. That tomorrow is unbounded. Go and make that vision a reality.
