
The United Bank of Africa (UBA) says it has increased deposit that comes to the bank through digital channels to 70 per cent compared to 30 percent it stood a few months ago.
Mr.Yinka Adedeji, the bank’s Divisional Head, Consumer and Digital Banking stated this in a press briefing in Lagos last week.
According to Adedeji, UBA in a quest to be innovative now record over N50 billion monthly transactions by using the Internet and mobile applications. “The volume of transactions on the over 1,800 Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) of the bank in Nigeria is over N100 billion monthly,” he added.

Adedeji also revealed that UBA has entered into an agreement with MyECheck to provide new social commerce payment system called “EmailMoni. The platform allows people and businesses to pay and receive electronic payments securely in a number of easily accessible and convenient ways.
All that is needed is for the user to send and request money instantly using Microsoft Outlook email, or any web mail, and then the money can also be securely requested and sent using Facebook, SMS text and other methods.
The ‘EmailMoni’ application is available on iOS, Apple App Store and for Android on Google Play.
